TextRail

Terms

Last updated October 30, 2026

These terms cover your use of TextRail. By creating an account you agree to them. “We” means TextRail and “you” means the person or business using the account.

What TextRail is

TextRail is an API that sends text messages from your software to phone numbers you choose. It only sends. It can’t receive replies.

Your account

An account needs a working email address and phone number, and you must verify both before using the API. Each phone number can have one account. Keep your details accurate.

Your API keys act as you. Keep them secret. You are responsible for everything sent with them, until you revoke them.

Paying

TextRail is prepaid, in US dollars. The minimum top-up is $10. There is no subscription.

Each message costs 2 cents, charged when it is sent. Messages that fail, expire or have an outcome we can’t confirm are free. Current prices are on the pricing page. If a price changes, the new price applies to messages sent after the change.

Stripe processes payments. If you want unused balance refunded, contact us and we will look at it case by case.

Using it fairly

You agree not to use TextRail to:

  • send spam or messages to people who have no reason to hear from you
  • deceive people, including phishing and impersonation
  • harass or threaten anyone
  • send anything illegal where you or the recipient are
  • get around our limits, or interfere with the service

You are responsible for the content of your messages and for having the right to send them, including any consent the law requires. TextRail doesn’t handle replies or opt-outs, so where the law requires them, you must provide your own.

What we don’t promise

We work to send every message, but we don’t guarantee that a message will be delivered, or when. Carriers can delay, filter or refuse messages, and some countries may not be enabled for sending. A status of sent means a message went out, not that someone received it.

The service can be paused or unavailable at times, and we don’t commit to any uptime. Don’t rely on TextRail for emergencies or for anything where a late or missing message could cause harm.

Stopping

You can stop using TextRail at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk. Where we reasonably can, we’ll tell you why.

Liability

TextRail is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant we’ll tell you by email, and using TextRail after that means you accept it.
